Before booking for our stay I was having doubts because of all the “BAD REVIEW”!!! But I’m glad I made a choice to experience it myself and WOW everything seems rather the opposite from what I though it will be. We had a junior suite room with a balcony over looking the garden and another one right infront of main road, yes! we don’t see the falls from the balcony as our room located right at the corner but THE SUNSET WAS AMAZING! The falls is just right infront of the hotel, the first things you see when you arrived at the hotel. We had dinner at ITAIPU Restaurant, food was superb! Portion wise, it is smaller than a normal Brazilian serving but it was perfect for us since we want to try more food on the menu. Had lunch at the Pool Area, simple food but very tasty. (It’s a hotel in a world heritage side of cos you wouldn’t expect it to be cheap but the quality is good) Breakfast was Perfect for us too. They even served Prosecco 🍾🥂 on the drinks sections. I’m not sure WHY is all the bad comments but I observed most of them are actually from the outsource Tour where a lunch ticket was include in their package. If you read through all the bad comments are mostly regarding poor food/too expensive/small room. the size of the room are indicated in the booking section. So you already knew what you are getting. TRAVEL TIPS! - Book on a SUNDAY or MONDAY. Because the Park is closed to Public on Monday so you have the falls to yourself :D I mean hotel guests :D - Check in earlier before the check in time and visit the falls while waiting for your room to get ready. - Chill at the Pool After you check out. (This way you find it worth it to pay for the stay) HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS if your still in doubts. we have no problem communicating with the staff since all of them speak English.

If you want the full Iguaçu Falls experience, you should splurge and stay, at least for a few nights, at the Belmond. It is the only hotel inside the national park, which means you have access to the falls before other tourists are allowed in. The Brazilian trail (very easy) is right by the entrance and gets you a unique view of the river and the various falls, all the way to the famous Devil's Throat. You will see many animals on the property, like a friendly but hungry family of coatis. The hotel is definitely old school, with a "Shining" vibe, but it's comfortable, with many amenities, including two restaurants and a bar. The staff is also old school which means they have impeccable service. You can have many activities organized by the concierge. I recommend booking a tour of the Argentinian side with a guide, which takes 5-6 hours and lets you go around and above the falls on several jungle trails (very easy and accessible).

The location within the park is fantastic. It is just a few steps from the hotel entrance to a waterfalls viewpoint and you can explore the Brazilian side of the falls outside of the public park hours (this is not something you can do properly on the Argentinian side if you stay at the Gran Melia). The hotel itself is beautiful and decorated to a very high standard (I don’t agree with some of the other reviews that have previously said the interiors are a bit tired). There are a lot of different areas inside and outside to relax in, and the pool and gym are both good. We enjoyed our meals in both restaurants and the breakfast options were exceptional. The service was flawless and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

This place is fantastic. The location is really the key selling point - it’s right in the National Park, and you have about two hours before and after everyone else leaves to explore at your own pace. I was able to have the entire falls viewing platform to myself one morning, which was an absolutely surreal experience given that when I went during normal hours the day prior, it was packed shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of people lined up and jostling each other for selfies. The hotel itself is perfect as well. It’s kept up extremely well, the room is spotless, bed is super comfortable. Nice pool area and facilities. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly to boot.

This is a one-off experience. The view from the hotel was out of this world - a perfect view of Iguazu Falls from the reception & cocktail bar. Worth paying a premium to be inside the national park with access to the park before & after it opens to the public. Breakfast was exceptional - absolutely everything you could want and more! Service was amazing from the personal welcome to the checkout - every staff member was super helpful and friendly. If you stay here, take advantage of the complementary guided tour of the falls before breakfast. Perfect time to see them, with the bonus of an incredible early morning rainbow over the falls. Spectacular!
